“In addition to security, the second possible element of Polish-US and US-regional cooperation is the economy,” said Minister Waszczykowski just before the start of the meeting at the Royal Castle. “It is possible that our region will be supplied with US gas,” he added. Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump expressed satisfaction with the growing trade and investment exchange and announced that efforts will be continued to further strengthen economic ties. They underscored the importance of energy cooperation. They also discussed the possibility of the US taking part in the modernisation of the Polish Armed Forces (in the Vistula and Homar programmes, among others).

“Building strong regional ties with the participation of the United States can be a valuable element complementing our joint potential,” said the chief of Polish diplomacy, who participated in the transatlantic session of the Three Seas Initiative Summit attended by the two presidents. Its participants discussed ways to enhance our region’s cooperation with the United States. The prospects of pursing joint infrastructural projects were discussed in this context.

On the sidelines of the Polish-US bilateral talks held today in Warsaw, Minister Waszczykowski talked with members of the US delegation, including Jared Kushner. They discussed cooperation in the area of security and the threats to NATO’s eastern flank. Poland is a firm advocate of US engagement in Europe and of strong transatlantic ties, which represent the pillar of security and development on our continent,” said Minister Waszczykowski.
